I will meet you there...

Out beyond fields of wrongdoing and right doing, there is a field. I will meet you there... -Rumi

Happy, Happy New Year and welcome. I have a plan and this day, this 5th of January, begins a new year, a new month, a new chapter and so it is time to begin anew. I am a new mom about to become a new wife. I have a new routine, a new schedule, and a newly discovered store of patience to go along with my new lack of sleep and my new want for more hours in each day. I have a new way of practicing yoga, a new way of running, a new way of reading, even. I have a new respect for my parents and, indeed, for parents everywhere. I have new priorities, new passions, new interests, new curiosities, new fascinations. I have a new urge and I am seizing it...here we go.

I have always written, so that's not new. But the desire to begin again and to properly integrate it into my life
is new. My love for yoga is not new, nor my love for running (although that love has waxed and waned over the years), but it will be new for me to write about those pastimes (obsessions?). The craving for compassion, to be compassionate in my every day, is also not brand-new, but I'm feeling it in a new way with a new urgency. So I'm off to that field, the one beyond all wrongdoing and right doing. I will meet you there...
